Applying Singapore visa for seafarers
Our company is official crew manning agent of Vallianz Offshore Marine Pte Ltd (VOM), Singapore.
We have applied Singapore visa for seamen at Singapore Embassy, Yangon with official request letter from Seafarers Division of DMA, Letter of Guarantee from VOM and e-ticket with booking number (but not confirmed yet) as supporting documents. It normally takes 4 working days for approval and it has been very smooth.
But recently, the embassy staff rejected visa applications with booking e-tickets and insisted to produce confirmed e-tickets.
As everybody is aware of that, assignment of crew is based on Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of the ships and ETA can be changed at any time at sea and confirmed ETA can only be made 24 hours ahead.
Thus insisting confirmed e-ticket for visa application for non-confirmed ETA caused quite a lot of problem for us. We feel that your requirement should be in conformity with business practice. We would appreciate if you could clarify your position why you have changed your policy insisting confirmed e-ticket for visa application.

How do we apply visitor visa without going to S'pore Embassy??
Me and 3 of my busy friends would like to go visiting to S'pore . But we can't go to S'pore Embassy which is situated in Yangon to apply visitor visa because we have our own job and if we go to yangon and apply for visa we have to take leave from our job and we have to spend extra time and money. Is there any service for applicants from outter area of Yangon? We live at Mandalay and it takes 1 night to come to Yangon from here by Highway bus.Does anyone have any idea to solve my problem?

Are mobile phones allowed in Burma?
Hi, are mobile phones allowed by travellers in Burma? I understand from some websites that international roaming or 3G can't be used in the country. Is it long distance call can only be made at certain hotels?
Thanks
