CRC-email
Dear Denzil
Thanks for your response.
I was not aware that once you register your papers in CRC you get a reference number and the same is with the agent. My agent should have given it to me upfront. So it’s not my mistake. We Goans just trust people and are not cunning.
Yes the agent is well known.
I have no clue when my birth registration was submitted but I was given to know that my verification process is completed and CRC is supposed to send my Nascimento.

CRC email - Vanessa
at first you should have asked your process number from your agent after you transferred the money to him - mistake from your end.

- your agent will not disclosed his lawyers name, is your agent from Goa, I mean well known? there are many well know agents in goa.

- CRC does not respond to any emails even if you write to them in Portuguese...I hear from many people.

- best is you take up with your agent because he is the one who has to update me or let you know the reason why it is held. there should be a reason behind it, or he is giving you false news.

- which date / month approx. you started your post 61 process and which month/year did he mentioned you it has veen verified?

The block is created by Goa govt and the head of notary in Goa they refused to accept verification from Lisbon and asked MEA to intervene, in reality BJP Govt in Goa is a Portugal phobic especially that Cancer Patient.

My dear friend zack
By MEA, India, I was not talking about the appostile part, but I was reffering to the impossible path created by the External affair ministry for the the verification of our goan brothers birth certificates and such other certificates issued by the Portuguese rulers.

Yes the CRC in Lisbon is very understaffed and slow. I remember some time ago it was only 5-6 people handling 1000s of cases per person. Not sure if it is the same today.

Goans per year only have like 2k to 3k birth cases if you look at the IRN statistics of the Portuguese govt. While Brazilian have 10000 cases per year and it keeps increasing.

The MEA is a part of the Apostile process (Hague International convention on document recognition which requires those many local, state and central govt stamps)
The MEA process actually controls fraud for official govt documents only. I am not aware how they cheat us to not get the Portuguese passport.

If all names match and you have the relevant documents the process is very straight forward.

Do not worry if the process takes some time. Portuguese Nationality law for Goans in Portugal is a part of the Portuguese Constitution and they cannot change those laws in Portugal that easily.

Kajal
Well Kajal the time for birth registration takes 12-14 months now. So your birth will be ready only in Sept-Oct 2019, then post that you have 2-3 months to register your marriage, then another 12-14 months for your child's birth. (so it would not be ready before the March 2019 deadline)

EU citizens will be able to enter the UK until the transition in dec 2020 but the rules will change and no one knows how post March 2019 wrt residency in the UK for EU citizens.
I recommend following the UK news and the deal via BBC and other uk govt sites to know what will be the status for EU citizens during the transition period till Dec 2020. (you can always take your kid on an EU family visa once your passport is ready and wait till his passport is ready)

There are 27 other EU countries to go and live and work with the EU passport.

Well once you get your BI, you can apply for the passport appointment the same day (Passport takes around 3-4 weeks to get done, you need to email them on week 3 and ask if it ready and go collect it).

Now for the Exit visa, it took me 30 days to get it via the FRRO Mumbai. Some people get it in lesser time because the part which there is a delay is the local police station verification.

You need to cancel your voter id and ration card
(both can be done in 1 -2 days) for the Surrender certificate and exit visa docs ( surrender certificate takes 1 day at the BKC office after online application and payment if you are lucky)

You can definitely make the March 2019 deadline with an exit visa done by jan end or feb start. Do the OCI once you are in the UK.
