Thank you Jack. Notarized copy of EU Spouse can be done through any local notary is it? Marriage Registration has to be casamento is it? Thanks again for all the information.

EU spouses aren’t required to provide flight tickets, proof of accommodation, tax returns etc. You only need a notarized copy of the spouse’s EU passport and a notarized copy of the marriage certificate.
Other categories would require such proof, but you generally submit that at the center after paying and booking an appointment. Yes, she had to visit VFS.

Jack just had some more queries do we need to show hotel and ticket booking while submitting the application form I was just going through the site. If so is there a way to do it without paying for it initially. Did your spouse had to visit VFS office in Mumbai personally?

Carolyn - We did not use an agent we did it ourselves. Here are the categories that France is currently accepting applications for - https://visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/fra/news/type-d-visa-application-mumbai
My wife was under the first category (short term visit by an EU spouse)
I am currently in Bombay, but I hold a Portuguese passport

Jess - They’re only accepting visas for certain categories. You can apply if your spouse holds an EU passport or you’re the dependent of an EU citizen.
