Delay
Well, guys the delay can be for many reason, like the quality of your documents, if you have submitted original documents, then it should not take more than 6 months to 12 months max, but if your documents are copies from the register or extract, then it might take longer.

Now if you have submitted your case through a agent in Goa, then he is not going to do any chasing for you. If you have put your case through a lawyer in Portugal, then he will have the authority to push your case, you should remember its not only you case in Lisbon, there are thousands, so you need someone who can handle your case and someone who can case the register office in Lisbon. If you dont chase then you case will be pending forever.

att: Brigit Fernandes
Bridgit, the answer is YES. If either of your parent's birth was registered in Goa prior to December 1961 then you as their child have the RIGHT to have your birth registered in Lisbon once one of your parents and their marriage is also registered there. Once you are registered you then have the RIGHT to apply for and be granted an ID card and passport via the Portuguese consulate, Karachi. If you engage a lawyer in Lisbon the entire registration process will take 5-8 months.
