Embassy shifts to the e-Passport

The Embassy has shifted to the new electronic e-Passport in March 2011. Since then, it has stopped issuing the Green Passport and the Machine-Readable Passport (MRP).

Filipino citizens may apply for or renew their Philippine passports only at the Embassy in Berlin. Filipino citizens living in other neighboring countries like Denmark and Poland may renew their Philippine passports in Berlin as well.

The cost of renewing a passport and applying for a new passport has been lowered to €54.- starting on 01 November 2012, regardless of whether the old passport is expiring or has already expired. Please click here for the new schedule of consular fees.

There is no need for an appointment to renew a Philippine passport in Berlin. Passport applications are entertained from 9:00 H to 13:00 H. For passport applicants from far areas like Hessen, North-Rhine Westphalen, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Baden-Württemberg or Bayern, the Embassy will accommodate their passport applications also in the afternoon starting at 14:00 H.

Personal appearance in Berlin is required because the biometric data of the applicant including the photograph, thumbprints and signature must be captured electronically at the Embassy. Applicants are no longer required to submit passport quality photos, but only two ordinary photos for registration purposes.

The Embassy offers an ePassport tracking service for passport applicants to check whether their passports are ready for releasing in Berlin.
