Please find your hearts and stop the executions
The so called drug emergency in Indonesia will not be impacted by firing squads. Instead, state killing of people in cold blood presents a distortion of your amazing country - full of compassionate and spiritual people. You are also undermining proportionality in the rule of law and actively denigrating human rights. Please stop and instead adopt an evidence based humane approach to drug use.

neighbours
To many Australians don't have a proper prospective of Indonesia and Indonesians I have travelled extensively in Indonesia and have always been welcomed by the locals. Indonesians are very proud people and do dislike to be told by westerners how to live, this is understandable if one knows about the history of oppression during colonial years. We can't always agree on situations but must accept the laws of our neighbours, even if they clash with our concept of right and wrong.

I'm so sorry
While there are some emotional issues, some of the comments here are disgusting, racist and just ignorant. I apologise for the complete ignorance, racist comments and general lack of intelligence displayed on this official site.
I'm embarrassed!

kill do do
rapists, Murderers, Terrorists etc. They all are allowed to walk freely in Indonesia. This Country is so corrupt and so is their Government. Killing 2 Australians was only a Political Issue to these Monkeys. I say, stop all financial Aid to them. All Indonesians on Death row wherever, execute them and do not listen to the Indonesian Presidents Plights. They deserve the same treatment as they do it to us. Islam is a dying religion because the next Christian Crusade is not far off and then we wipe that dirty Breed from this Planet.

So sad
I feel sad about the whole episode. Had the Bali 9 been taking drugs into Indonesia and been caught - no sympathy. This information was given to Indonesia by the AFP and that is the difference in this whole sorry saga. The mules have paid the price and the big boys go on trafficking. Everyone deserves a second chance and the 9 could have been arrested and dealt with here as the AFP knew about the deal. No drugs would have been distributed in Australia. My own protest will be to keep my money in my wallet when any disasters occur in Indonesia.

One of the interesting things that while i disagree with the Death penalty, what made this worse was that these men had been clearly reformed and obviously had learnt there lesson. Some of the people involved in the Bali Bombings have been released. It is clearly an Attack on Australia. But if you really look at this issue , it comes back to Clash of civilisations. Most Australians are angry , and sad, mainly because people know this was not about setting an example about drugs but about how much they hate us. While everyone talks about waging war and attacking Indonesians we all know that most of it is just talk , because people feel such anger, when it comes to the crunch, most people that i know would not hurt anyone. Myself i will be withdrawing all donations and sponsership of children there . The problem is Australian is way too forgiving and easy going. But in Islam forgiveness and mercy is seen as a weakness, where in our society mercy is seen as a strength. The Government of Indonesia is corrupt , the drug trade there and the people smuggling is sponsered and allowed at the highest levels.

despicable people
I have nothing but contempt for Indonesia and Balinese. Indonesian government and its people including Balinese are and always will be a 4th world country. You allow your women and children to be sold. Drugs sold to tourist by government bodies , but you turn a blind eye to this. I hope you ALL feel great shame for what you have done retribution will be felt in your corrupt pockets. This is my last posting and I will looking forward to your countries the slow demise of your country. Shame shame

who's crying for the dead addicts?
Indonesia has its laws and these guys new this but because Australia is soft on drug pushers they thought they could get away with it as they do in Australia and most other permissive countries.
You people writing in don't give a dam about all the lives these drug pushing people wreck, so if it stops some of these drug criminals then it has done some good.
Two deaths maybe will save a thousand others, and it is strange that we don't here you people writing in about all the other injustices that go on, so are you all drug uses that want everyone to agree with your damnable habit?
