My Indonesia Visa: Issues Arising
I am a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt and also an Assistant Director of Centre for Nuclear Energy Studies, UNIPORT. I came to Abuja Yesterday to apply for Indonesian Visa to enable me attend the workshop of PDC: Nuclear Security Culture studies holding at Madjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. This workshop is sponsored by Kings College, London and US states Department. This morning the Embassy Staff denied me visa because my passport is new and it is my first me of travelling oputside Nigeria. So I should provide a drug clearance certificate. I am so dissappointed because I have wasted my money and the risk of travelling from Port Harcourt to Abuja, only to be told off by the Embassy. All Nigerians are not drug pushers, like myself I am a senior academics and responsible I should have been considered for visa, possibly make enquiries from the sponsors. Thanks.
