Indians under siege in south africa
indians in south africa are being targeted by criminals ever increasingly on a daily basis. My 31 year old son was killed in front of his wife and 11 month old child in his bed room by 4 armed BLACK males at 8pm on 14 Sept 2012. Should we continue being passive and see our loved ones being slaughtered or should we start arming ourselves and protect ourselves. The present government has failed and marginalized the Indian population. Is it time to change course and resurrect the Natal Indian Congress.18 years after democracy the ANC still practices reverse apartheid to the detriment of all other MINORITY GROUPS.The Zuma led government has failed to govern and protect its citizens Please intervene on our behalf as we have no voice within the present govt.

Ripped Off
My very first trip to India being my motherland - I was ripped off by our local travel agent and the tour operator from Inda. The modus operandi is to book you into an hotel not suitable to your liking and when you are there you are forced to pay large amount to the tour operator to find better accommodation. Also while I was in India I was forced to return home due to a death in my family. The tour operator did not refund even though the hotel did not charge for the days not spent. This particular tour operator capitalised on my demise. The big names locally and in India are the theives to watch out for. This has now put a damper to visit India again.

Re: R Singh's predicament
One does fully understand the anger and hurt felt by R Singh's family. But without having to point fingers, let me highlight some vital mistakes that were made--1. Most of us make this mistake, but we shoud always double check the details of the visa before leaving the office especially when so much trouble has gone into going overseas. Usually immigration officials are unable to help as they are bound by their routine rules. But usually a higher ranking official is helpful as they are able to go beyond their call of duty. But it is hard to comment on immigration procedures as they are unique to each country. About your loss of funds, you must check if you had taken a travel insurance. Usually if you have paid your tickets by credit card e.g., Visa, you normally get a standard travel insurance covered. You may want to check with your bank if you travel tickets were covered by their insurance (provided you paid by credit card for tickets). Any other payments such as made to the hotel can also be claimed if paid by credit cards.
