Sue, obviously you need to get your papers. Clinton, you need to go on their website (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/)but I think you would have to apply for citizenship and then your passport. If you were born in SA your daughter cannot get british citizenship or passport - it stops with you. Your wife cannot get a passport either unless you live there for 3 years then she can. I am married to a british man and I cant get one through him. I now have citizenship through my mother but it stops with me and my first born son cant get one as his father was born in Rhodesia. Hope this helps. Need anything else you can email kay.pazera@mweb.co.za glady help where I can.

I work for a British lady living in France as a carer/handyman and have done for the past 6 years. I spend 3 months in France and 3 months in South Africa every year. Many years ago my wife spent 6 months in the Uk with my son and opened a bank account. My salary was paid into her account as I did not have one of my own until a year ago when I managed to open one as we were planning to move to the UK The Uk border agency in South Africa have refused her visa application. They say the reason is my bank account does not reflect my income. I have a letter of appointment stating I earn over the required amount, and that my employer pays my salary into my wife's account. It was refused because my salary was paid into my wife's account and not my own. I cannot believe that my wife of 24 years will not be able to live with me because of this technicality. Is there any way this can be looked at.
Firstly I now discover that there is no UK Consulate to deal with here in SOuth Africa as they are in the process of moving back to the UK.
I am wanting to apply for my UK passport, my father is a UK Citizen born and bred there. He came out to SA many years ago and met my mother here. They had a short marraige I was born. They divorced and he has been back in the UK since. How do I go about applying for a UK passport and what paperwork is needed, in addition what is needed for my daughter and wife.? Please could someone assist.

Hi
I wouold like to know how does one obtain a marriage certificate from parents if the parents were not married at the time of birth???!!!!!. I am a little concerned regarding this, as my parents were only married after my birth and since then have been divorced for almost ten years. May I also add that I am 23 years of age, why do I need these marriage documents?
I would like to get a job in your Embassy. I am a 38year woman, working in an Human Resource Section (Salaries Office).
Please consider me when you have Vacancies.
Regards,
Miss NP Kunene
