I have submitted spouse visa application ref DHDE/140617/0059/01 on 14th June 2017. Now its almost half a year still no info regarding visa. My passport with application lying in SA Embassy New Delhi since then.

There should be a time frame to release the visa within a period. In my case it became uncertain when it will be released!! Moreover no document query I received so far.


Kindly assist if you can help me out to release the visa.

I had the same situation where no certainty when visa will be released. I had to reschedule flights 3 times.

I must say services at SA High commission is worst that is one of the reason SA struggle with their economy because of decision making power and will is miserable.

I suggest you open your ticket once you get visa then book the date instead re-booking again and paying cost to it.

I submitted my application on 25th October, with my flight booked for 6 November. The first time I applied for visit visa in 2016, it only took 4 days, and I received my visa. I didn't get my visa in time for the 6th, thus had to reschedule my flights at a huge cost.

I rescheduled my flight again for the 15th November, and have been waiting patiently for the visa to be issued, but now, after 12 working days, it is still not issued.

I tried to call VFS center, but they just pull up their shoulders, saying they don't know anything. When I try to call the SA High Commission, they don't even listen to my inquiry.

On your website it is stated it takes a minimum of 5 working days for the visa to be processed. If there is mentioned on the website the maximum days we need to wait, that will be more helpful. If we knew how long it might take for the visa to be issued, we will even apply to the visit visa a couple months in advance.

Kindly please advise. I have my flight that will leave on the 15th, thus up to date I nearly had to spend more than $400 to reschedule my flights, $150 to travel far to delhi, apply for visa, and stay in a hotel. And the costs go on and on. I would prefer spending this money while visiting South Africa.

Now I don't know what to do anymore. Please advise on this matter.
