My wife has applied for dependent visa on 27th Aug. Could you please let me know how much time does it take normally to process dependent visa ? My other colleagues have received dependent visa in 8 days.Just want to know, is there any processing delay experiencing at New Delhi Office? Can I expect the visa in 2 weeks time? Please reply.

Are the rules changed for work visa in India as well?
I am in Cape Town right now and my immigration lawyer mentions that if I apply for the work visa from New Delhi, the old rules will apply and I won't have to get the department of labor certificates etc. Can anyone who has applied for a work visa recently verify her claim?

Hi Monal,

Apply for the dependant Visa at the VFS office Only.
The submission of application process is very simple. You can yourself submit the application along with the relevant documents at the VFS.

A dependent or spouse visa should be processed from VFS only. A dependent or spouse visa is just a long term Visitors Visa. It would say Multiple Entries, enter on or before date of expiry, and then will have the date of expiry. The date of expiry will be the date of expiry of husband/father's Work Permit expiry date. They will request a deposit of Rs.40000 to be submitted once the Visa gets approved from South Africa. (for your return ticket in case you do have to be deported by the SA authority.)

Hi Monal,

My husband has a five-year Work Permit for SA. I have applied to a Spousal visa. I am assuming that you also need a long-term Spousal Visa.

Please refer the VFS website ( http://www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/india/dependantvisa_documentsrequired.html)

They have listed the list of documents and other useful details. Please arrange for all those documents ( most of them would come from your spouse) and submit them to the VFS office.
Hope this helps

Hi,
I will be applying today, post lunch.
For Spousal dependant Visa we need to apply to the VFS center and not the embassy.
