I have one parent that has passed and property in Portugal is in her name. Law in Portugal is the inherits are spouse & living children. So, my question is what is it that the children need being raised in USA documents to have property transferred to there names? thank You (908)591-7652 Help

Unbeleivable! I have been calling for weeks, leaving message after message indicating my need for someone to call me back so that I can make an appointment. All I have to do is make an appointment. Portuguese consulate in Newark makes the DMV look exceptionally confident. Scary.
This is the 6th time I called and nobody ever return my call with information....It is sad that we have this representation here in this country where are millions of Portuguese that need some help from this Consulate and they don't care.
Do not bother calling or emailing this consulate you will never get a response or someone to answer. They do not answer the phones. You have to physically go there to make appointments or get anything done. I tried calling for nearly 3 weeks as I am not local, left 4 voicemails and emailed multiple times and never got any responses. I finally had to take the time off from work to go, and when you are physically there everything is simple and prompt and friendly, but you can actually see them IGNORING the phones. I understand if you have alot of work to do, but then either hire more people or get a site up for self help so people calling have answers to the simple questions like what paperwork they need to bring etc.
Absolutely horrible experience with this embassy. God forbid you were arrested or needed help from them without the ability to get there, i don't know what a Portuguese citizen would do. Someone of authority needs to seriously make some changes to the way they operate because it is an abomination to what is supposed to be an accessible foundation for citizen support.
called 2 weeks ago left message with 2 dif. phone #'s still waiting for a call back.
I called this number (973) 643-4200 yesterday and left a voice message. Got a call back within two hours. The service was nice and polite.
