Please ensure El Salvador's human rights profile in the world community by releasing the women unjustly imprisoned for "abortion." These women are mothers of small children, many were raped, and some had miscarriages, not abortions, but there is no concrete proof for prosecution.Every day in prison is torture for these women. PLEASE release them!
Sixteen women continue to be imprisoned in El Salvador under deplorable conditions because they are accused of having had abortions. Many of these women, all poor, were raped or had miscarriages and are victims of extreme injustice. I beg you to intervene and assist in their release.
I believe that "Las 17" women have been unjustly imprisoned and ask leaders at the Salvadoran embassy to pressure the government for their immediate release. They were imprisoned on the grounds that they had abortions. Many are mothers of small children, many were raped, and some had miscarriages, not abortions, but there is no concrete proof for prosecution. Prison conditions are deplorable, according to a friend of ours who visited 5 of them in April. Please help them, I implore you!!
