I have applied for visa to south africa on 30th oct 2015.
I am traveling to usa for a very important conference on 14th night. I have been trying to contact the embassy by email/telephone desperately. Your telephones are unreachable and once when I managed to get through, the lady put me on hold for 15 min and then just cut the call! I am forced to ask for withdrawal of the passport. please give our passport back if it is not possible to issue visas, please please

Surprisingly Consulate General South African Mumbai does not either communicate nor respond to our visa application. High Headed approach does not go well with the people of India. People who had already paid money for ticket and hotel and no response for visa even after applying 20 days before, its pathetic show. Atleast Govt of South Africa looking into the matter and put a stop to this approach.
Dear Sir,
I had applied for SA Visa with and app ref no. as DHMU/161015/0027/01
I had applied on 16th October and havent heard back on Visa approval. The status still shows as application send to embassy. I would request you to please process my Visa, I have already paid in full and cant even cancel my bookings. I am travelling outside Mumbai post 7th November and so hope to get my Visa by then as after that no one would be there to collect my Visa / passport.
I have called the Embassy several times but always get a response that they will look into this issue. Today I tried calling entire day but got the message that "route is busy".

I would like to bring to your kind attention that I along with my wife had applied for a Visit Visa on 19th Oct 2015 via VCS Mumbai. We have made all the package reservations and confirmed the Air Tickets for this trip and we have to travel from the 8th Nov 2015 and be back to India as planned, due to our work commitments and social obligations. We have made the full payment towards the Package and Air Tickets and in case we do not get our passport by today or tomorrow we will have to face a huge loss in terms of cancellation, postponement charges on the package and tickets. Hence I would sincerely, request your good self to consider our request and issue us the visa by tomorrow and kindly help us to explore your beautiful country with good memories.
I am looking forward for a positive reply from your end, and thanking you in anticipation.
Yours Truly

To all who have not yet received SA visa. I would suggest that you take all your documents with tickets and bookings and stand outside the embassy for at least 3 hours, and keep asking the security to please submit your documents and as you will be travelling the next day. While there is no guarantee that you will get it, I got mine as did 2 other people. Writing here make no difference. emailing and calling makes no difference - they do not care at all. I have been informed that it is normal for many people to come stand, wait and just leave and lose their money.
When you apply as an individual through VFS, SA embassy takes an average of 45 days to process. I do not know how travel companies manage.
If you really want it, go and stand there until the security guys get fed up of seeing your face and just to get rid of you they will take your papers...
Good luck!
Good luck to everyone.
Why is there so much delay
