Currency freeze : 1000 and 500 Rupee notes
This is a highly irregular and irresponsible strategy even if the intention is to tackle the scourge of corruption. I have family members who are presently holidaying in India that are adversely affected by this dastardly act and are left stranded with a wealth of now useless notes. It is impossible to purchase meals and essentials. The banks are closed and the anticipated crowds when they open would require them to live in queques for a few days until they can hopefully exchange these now useless notes. Has there been any consideration for the welfare of innocent tourists so affected. Can the Consulate offer any assistance in this regard.
