I think we should Twit or FB rather. More reaction & Publicity you get, more interest, more attention & more momentum we will get. That's what I believe.
For politicians & news, it's all about publicity stunts.

I think we should take help from the Press. We won't get much support until we get press involved I guess.
I believe in my view media in India would not be of much help since the Consulate has the final say in timeline, process, immigration decisions etc.
In my view it would be great if people with job offers in hand and those who have university admissions, to please gain some support from the company/visa agency/university officials. If we can gain some momentum at that front and having the people at various levels following up with the consulate staff we can get the gears moving.
And yes, you are right, Dec would be an off month for most of the staff.

Oh and BTW, the immigration staff is on leave for Christmas almost, whole of Dec. Just saying.
I agree, we need to get press involved here.
So below is the link of a very big TV show in SA, which did an investigation on how bad/slow VFS and the immigration office is. Post this investigation and blowout, MANY people have immediately got their visa's approved.
