This is the worst Official site I have experienced. I have travelled all round the world and have never come across anything like this. You cannot get an appointment to see anyone, until you receive communication from them directly. How long does that take I wonder, I have tried every week for over a month and heard nothing. does anyone care at this embassy, peoples lives are on hold waiting

I phone the consulate 66 times and spend almost half a trying to speak to them and was absolutely no response and no help nor support from them. its a nightmares.
Dear Consulate.
I have today made a round trip of 70 miles to the consulate in Manchester to collect my cartao de cidadao (ID card)only to find that the consulate was closed due to being a bank holiday in Portugal.Nothing wrong with the consulate having the Portuguese as well as the English bank holidays, however with today,s technology the consulate could very well advise its customers of the bank holidays and therefore avoid great disappointment and expense.There is no excuse for not publicising this information. I am reliably informed that people have come as far as Aberdeen and Leicester plus two other location in the Uk only to find the Consulate Closed just like I did.
Please , please Mr consul you have a very powerful tool called the website and internet please use it to your and your customers advantage.
I am very disappointed of the lack of information.
