Small correction - The nationality statistics below are for the year twenty twenty, not twenty one

That guy is a troll from Mozambique. Ignore him. The Portuguese Secretary of State isn’t going to post on this site.

The number of Goans granted nationality every year is very small. If I remember correctly, it was less than two thousand for the year twenty one as per the SEF website. In comparison more than twenty thousand Israeli Sephardic Jews were granted nationality. The Portuguese government is already making attempts to tighten the laws granting nationality to Sephardic Jews (the last law was vetoed by the President as being discriminatory).

The Portuguese Government are not focused on Goans because the numbers applying for/granted nationality is too small. From my experience most Portuguese people know very little about Goa. The consulate in Goa however might be a different story.

I actually experienced the same thing on March twelve when I applied (with the intention of a new card) but instead since I didn't see the new citizen card option, it just wasn't there, I chose something else instead (an inquiry option). The whole application (Even though it was approved), was of no use since it's not related to the card.
