Yes before ninety sixty or fifty eight something baptism is accepted and with baptism you can apply for birth cert if not teor.
And definitely final decision is your's to listen to your lawyer.

Is there a sort of waiting list for nationality applications at the consulate? Do you think I should apply through the consulate or through an agent?
I have my fathers baptism cert which is fine for the marriage registration. I want to find his birth teor and goa baptism registration to see if i can register my father instead of mother because i don't want to have to correct names.
Can we personally go through the transcription book?
The lawyers told me all my documents are fine to continue from my mothers side. I have everything.
Yes thats the issue it has taken me so long. They checked the birth year of my father, but have to check subsequent birth years. Its taken me so long.
I am only waiting on submittimg my mothers case to check fathers name on his certificates. If there is no need for any changes. Then i can proceed from fathers side.
I have all docs from my mothers side to proceed. So its really frustrating waiting.
