My agent is not accepting my baptism certificate and is insisting on my municipal birth certificate. She said that for marriage registration of a Portugal national with an Indian national you need the Indian national's civil / municipal birth registration. But I've never used a municipal birth certificate anywhere. I don't even have one. I've always only used my baptism certificate for passport and even visas they accepted. Is there any place where it is Mentioned that to register marriage between Portuguese spouse and India national, the Indian spouse baptism certificate will do? So that I can quote that to my agent as she is adamant for my municipality birth certificate. I live in Mumbai.

My husband has got his BI. I. Have to now register our marriage. I was born in 1981 but I Have never used my municipal birth certificate. I don't even have it. I have always used my baptism certificate everywhere. Can we got married in church in 2006. Can I get our marriage registered with my church marriage certificate along wit all the attestations and my birth certificate? I am an Indian national and my husband is Portuguese BI holder. Please let me me know the process for marriage registration without a municipal birth certificate. Thank you.

What documents did you submit to get the BI appointment? Could you please share the link?
Which date have you got your appointment at the Goa consulate?
So far not heard of any rejections wherein if you have a GCC residence you been told to do it in Abu Dhabi!
As well, the Abu Dhabi consulate works at the slowest pace. BI and passport issuance can range from 3/6 months or even more ( past experiences of my family / friends ).
Has anyone from Kuwait taken the BI in Goa these days?
I have the appointment but heard that they don't let you enter if you have Kuwait residence, they ask you to do it at Abu Dhabi.
Has anyone faced such?
