cancellation of appoinment
Hi, I made a mistake while filling the application form. I got the appointment date also in the mumbai consulate. I sent a mail to the consulate regarding what to do to correct the mistake but no reply from them.

Can anyone please tell me what to do or should i have to cancel the appointment and fill the application again and take new appointment?

If so what is the procedure to cancel the appointment made at mumbai consulate?

please suggest me

Helpful Information regarding Visa process
Hello,
I'm happy to say that we submitted the documents for processing.we found this a bit difficult because no one is there to guide us.
Here we want to share my experience below...

1. Book your appointment as soon as you get an invitation from university, (confirm your accommodation address and insurance coverage date: is mandatory for
visa application)
2.Apostle your required documents (for students)
3.Get a travel insurance (should cover 3 months min., from the date of appointment)
4.Collect offer letter from university, also the accommodation letters
5.Arrange the supporting documents (for students with scholarship: Scholarship letter, amount of scholarship and letter from sponsoring organisation /college,
Without scholarship: Bank balance, Fee payment receipt)
6.Take 2 copies of all attachments (Apostile certificates, Passport, Id, IELTS, Admission letter, supporting document, and ...)
7. Take new Photo as per instructions (Take atleast 8 of them, 1 is needed in embassy, but need the rest for further process at university)
8. Book tickets before 1 day of the appointment (you can book one or take itenary, but dont go with a fake one, as if they found out while cross checking, it will crush your dreams...)

9. Make sure you only give the required documents as per check list.(Can download from mumbai poland consulate website>visa information)
10.On the day, Go to ADCB, pay 4900 + 200 as DD, (Visa fee + processing fee)
11.Go to the consulate and submit.

>Guys its an easy process, only you have to get an appointment slot to submit the document and i think you can do that all by yourself.

>Any corrections in your document, please strike it using pen and re-write and sign.

All
You can appear for work with others appointment but you need a permission mail from the embassy regarding the same. I secured an others appointment and then mailed the embassy explaining my situation. They granted me permission and then I appeared for my appointment and faced no problems.

Here are few tips for booking an appointment yourself because as far as I know all the agents also book only through the website and I don't think there is some backdoor entry to them:

1) You can open multiple tabs of the e-konsulate. Open one tab , complete the captcha and sit. Then open another tab, complete the captcha and repeat. Open atleast 25-30 tabs.

2) Keep in mind that the captcha verification expires after 15mins. So you will get an error if you try to book date after 15mins of completing captcha verification.

3) Exactly at 10AM Mondays for Mumbai and 3PM Tue,Fri for Delhi start trying for dates on the tabs. I asked for 25-30 tabs so that you have sufficient tabs to keep trying at least for 5-10 mins since it might happen they do not open the tabs exactly on time.

All the best guys.

Easyway to book appointments
We both study International Affairs and have a special interest in consular relations. We have interned in embassies in New Delhi. We know how embassies/consulates function from within. I will agree with you that the process is very much flawed at the embassy and consulate for Indians, HOWEVER, it does work seen as we have gotten our visa hardly 2 weeks ago.

Consultancies are just another fancy name for agents. I've also used them once being gullible just like you. It is people like that who are the customer base for these thriving entities. The embassy and consulate has strictly advised against availing their use on their website if you read! You will only lose your money and in few years down the line regret taking their services. Remember when the visa is rejected, your passport gets a stamp in it that you have been rejected a visa! So tread carefully if you want to with consulatancies/agents.

As for calling/emailing them. I do not know what tone you have been using with them in the email that they dont reply to you. Mr Prashant Mohan Raj is the Junior Visa Officer at the Embassy of Poland in New Delhi. He had replied to our email within a day.

We called several times in a day at the mentioned time till they picked up our call and addressed our queries. It isn't as if the Embassy/consulate isn't working at all. Their landline service is of MTNL which sometimes connects the calls and sometimes doesn't due to connectivity issues!

1. The timings you are trying at "3am-6am" is wrong. You are supposed to try from 8am-11:30am. Then again at 2pm-3:30pm.

2. Clear your cache and accept all cookies for that website. Use google chrome is you are using a Mac.

3. If you are emailng them then send them a screenshot of the portal in that to show you have proof that it isn't working.

4. Your email id is mentioned on the form where that form gets delivered. If you use a consultancy then they will use their email address which the embassy notices because you have to use your email id while filling up the form. They simply do not take 2 weeks to process each application. It is a thorough checking that happens on your application.

That is how we booked a slot and got a reply from them.
