My Italian passport expired. I have been trying to renew it for over a year. Having spoken to the consulate in Manchester, who told me to contact London which I did. I was told to renew online, it's all there step by step so I was told. This was not the case. The site sends you round in circles, is not helpful and if you can get as far as downloading the renewal form then that is an achievement. Over a year on, numerous calls to London, Manchester and Birmingham I'm still no further forward. I agree with a previous post, get neutralised, obtain dual nationality and get a British passport. They are helpful, polite and apologised for not having the home office contact number.
We are Italian and should be proud not despairing at the incompetence of the consulate.

I just noticed a mis-spelling of my son's name by one character in his passport. Can the retification be done here through the consolate in nottingham or London or I must go back to the issuing "questura" in Italy?
