Dear Sir/Madam,
RE: REQUEST FOR SUPPORT TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF LHUKONZO
DICTIONARY.
Kikonzo Language & Culture is a writers’ and a publishing organization found in Kasese District, Western Part of Uganda. It is engaged in writing and publishing mother tongue books for primary education in schools and publication of functional adult literacy materials in the Rwenzori region. Lhukonzo is an endangered language, it has not been documented for centuries yet it’s widely spoken by over 8 million people, those are the Bakonzo in western Uganda and others in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kikonzo Language & Culture has also finished a draft lhukonzo dictionary which has over 3,000 pages. This draft dictionary now require Review, Editing, Phonetics development and illustrations for it to be ready for publication.
The purpose of this communication is therefore to seek for a funding for the dictionary reviewing, editing, phonetic developments and illustrations.
We shall then submit a proposal after you have pledged support.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Muhindo Johachim.
Director.
