Indian Embassy
The Indian Embassy here dates back to the 18th century where the cast system was still in effect. Everybody thinks they are kings and looks down on average citizens. The service is super slow. I bet the place will even run better with retarted people.

MEDICAL INSURANCE/ FACILITY
Sir, previously we use to get medical reimbursement. But now we dont have any medical facility. For everything we have to pay from our pockets. This is really a costly affair for us.In case of any severe complaint we have to spend that month allowance. Its really a costly affair. Moreover I think as per Labourlaw, all the employees should be provided with the medical facility, which is a basic requirement. But this lacking here. Can you pls look into this matter.. as we come here to earn something , but not at the cost of our healths. We donot even have emergency medicines.

MANHANDLED BY THE ISLANDERS
I, the undersigned, Sunil Selvanathan from India, Passport No: F4000360, Work Visa No: IA206559 have been working in N.Holhudhoo as a pharmacist in Medicare medical shop under the sponsorship of Ahmed Zareer (A102710), Alevage N.Holhudhoo, since 2010. On the 10th of July 2012 in the afternoon around 2pm, while I was in the shop on duty, one Islander, a young man of about 25 years old came to the shop with a medical prescription in which four items of medicines were prescribed. I took medicines according to the prescription, but one tablet of 80 mg was not available in the shop whereas 250 mg was available. I told them the case and suggested to consult the doctor once to clarify. But they were not willing to do so; instead they started shouting at me in their mother tongue. Then I told that I myself could go to get the advice from the doctor. Then I came out and closed the door of the shop as there was nobody else to take care of the shop. When I was about to move forward, the aforesaid person slapped me on the face. The three of his friends also slapped me continuously. As I was helpless, I started to run to my sponsor’s house which is more than 200 meters away. The four people mentioned above ran after me shouting loudly up to the sponsor’s house. My left ear was paining severely and there was swelling on the left temple. I could not hear properly. Therefore I went to the medical centre after 15 minutes and consulted the doctor. I was referred to consult the ENT specialist and also to take the x-ray of my head.
I am totally disheartened by this incident and in such insecurity and state of threat, I am not able to continue in my job. There are more than 30 expatriates working in this place including teachers and all are really shocked to hear about this atrocity. I hereby request you to make an enquiry about this and do me justice.

The Indian High commission, Male', Maldives.
I was working in the Maldives as an English teacher. Once I handed over my passport for renewal with the High commission of India, Male'. To get the passport back I had to have a verbal fight with the embassy staff and finally the High Commissioner himself appeared on the scene and then only I got my passport. While entering the High Commissioner's room, I heard the sound some tourists waiting in the lounge for their visas clapping their hands ! This compliment made my heart bleed! I felt sorry that I became instrumental to expose the bureaucracy and inefficiency of an Indian High commission. I felt so uncomfortable that the High commissioner (the representative of our President) himself had to interfere to get my passport back.
When passport came, it was another shock!!! On the address page "Palakkd -in Kerala-' was entered as in 'Tamilnadu'!!!! When I pointed it out, it was immediately scored off and the corrected address was entered on another page! Now I go around with a passport bearing a correction like a scar on the face! It is a shame that people without any preliminary geographical knowledge of India are working in the Indian consulates. The staff in the Indian commission in Male' are not impolite and rude but ignorant too!
It is high time the government of India expelled such manner less, greedy and ignorant staff at least from it's diplomatic services overseas.

The passport is still with me, and if anyone would like to have a look at it please contact me at elastay@gmail.com

Indian embasy at Male staffs are USELESS
I really dont know why there is an embassy in Male who doesn't care about any Indian. First impression is the best impression, there is a lady at the reception who is always in tension and hurry, very rude. She thinks she is the president of India. Who ever visits Indian embassy are treated like a slave.

Robbery against foreigners is increasing in Maldives.
I am posting the real situation existing in maldives to alert all foreigners who seeks job in maldives. If you are about to go to maldives as a Govt. or private employ, do not carry too much of money & any expensive items ( camera or any electronic equipment like laptop, mobile phones, gold ornaments, any computer accessaries like pen drives, external harddisk, webcam etc. even if it is utmost required for ur job that u seek in maldives. Street robbers and house breaking robbers are always watching you. As soon as they gets an opportunity they we will utilise it. Unfortunately the Roberrors are the local citizens of Maldives whose main target is foreigners working in maldives. If u got robbed here, and gone to complaint in police, they will pretend to serve you, but actually not, because most of these roberrors are some way related ( blood relation ) to one or the other police men in police station. Current year from Jan -April 2012, seven laptop, and other expensive items has been stolen from the room of foreigners ( 5 indian & 2 uk nationals ) by house breaking, in one of the developed islands of maldives ( kuluhudhuffushi island ) and so far no one has been cought. Only one expection to this is that, one uk national has got her stolen laptop back as the high commission of UK has influenced the Maldivian government as per her request. She got her laptop back ( which appeared to be impossible ) within an hour, after the influence of high commission of uk, but nobody has been arrested by police for the crime. This clearly speaks about the attitude of police here when foreigners faces any trouble from local people. It is not a big task for the police to find out the person who does such crimes here when there is sufficient proof and that also from a low populated region. (nearly 12000 in kuluhudhuffushi island ). The population of most of the other islands are less than this. The interesting fact is that the robbers cannot easily escape from the island, unless they hire a boat or ferry, which also can be identified. Most often the police will file the case when we complain, but they will come forward, only when the foreigners are about to leave for annual vacation or in case they are about to leave the country, to say that we enquired but we didn't find it out and to get the signature from us to close the case. With out closing the case they will not allow to travel back from Maldives. In general maldivians doesn't give any respect or preference to foreigners belonging to other cast other than Muslim in most cases. This type of incidents are reported in almost all islands in maldives and is increasing day by day, since no one has been cought or punished for such crime here as per my knowledge. About me - I worked in many Islands here for the last 8 years and had communication with foreigners living in other islands of maldives. My house here has be robbed 3 times with in the last 2 years, but no one has been cought yet, nor do i got the stolen thing back. I am just said goodbye to maldives forever. In short, Maldives is not a better place to work or to live, but a paradice ( only in resorts ) for tourists......

PLEASE DONT ADVICE TO INDIAN TO COME HERE IN MALDIVES
Sir (Mr Mulay), I am not sure for the month but I think 8 mth back in Marathi news paper I read your article regarding Maldives. This is my humble request to you please dont do this again.

Maldives Resorts are only Paradise but rest of the country is full of problem. Sir you first see and experience the life in Islands then you will come to know how difficult to survive. Plus these people really dont know how to respect foreigners especially doctors who are serving their people. All the employers in the world getting two days off in a week, but here we doctors are working 6 days in a week. If we take a seek leave then they will deduct 8 hrs from our over time. I think this is against employment law.
dhanyawad.
