Afghan-German historical ties.
Dear highly esteemed German friends, firstly, I must confess that the German Embassy in Kabul has always been most helpful and considerate to Afghans requiring visas or other Consulate assistance. That said, moreover, Afghanistan and Germany have a long very cordial and friendly relationship In the 1930's Germany established and funded the first German language school in Afghanistan, later on this was followed with social assistance in the form of German medical doctors,and the first German supervised tuberculous hospital in Kabul. King Amanullah, of Afghanistan during his European tour met with Paul Von Hindenburg President of Germany in 1920'. On king Amanullah's request President Von Hindenburg had sent his chief architect to over see building the now, laying in ruins, first Afghan Parliament building on DaraulAman Road.This very stately and beautiful building had a pure copper roof which shone like gold in the waning sunset. Educational wise, Germany had and still has assisted Afghanistan in fellowships and other educational and social endeavors. In short the the great country of Germany and its great people have through the years proved to the Afhan people that Germany is one Afghanistan's most trustworthy friends
