The Nile: Message from ordinary Ethiopian to Egypt
1. We don't understand why our government is soothing you while you should be the one begging us to cooperate because ultimately after all your war talks and non-sense arguments you're making about "your historic rights" on the Nile, the river will still flow from Ethiopia. Which ofcourse unless you occupy us :-) and we all know you've attempted this before and tasted the bitter defeat.

2. What is the meaning of your "historic rights?". Whose history? Your's? Ours? the World's? This is a non-sense word to the average Ethiopian.

3. Ethiopian paid the price to be a free nation and yet Egyipt want us to be governed by your colonial agreements??? Why should we??? This doesn't make sense to an ordinary Ethiopian.

4. You think "Egypt is the gift of Nile". We say "Egypt is the gift of Ethiopia". What do you think?

5.You plan to cultivate millions of hectares and channel the water to Sinai desert and yet we can't touch our water??? Where is the logic here?

6. If we are blessed with 2000ml of average rain, then that is gift of Allah just like the oil is his gift to many nations. Saudi has lot's of oil fields, but is anyone trying to tell them you can develop this field and that? It is our right to do whatever we want with any of our rivers when we want. So its to your advantage to be nicer to us.

7. Beating the war drum and declaring one will only end up with losing lives in both nations. You can fly all your advanced jets, crusie your destroyers and bluff about your military might. 1st of all, we are not weak as you think (there is a lesson you need to learn from your Eriterian friends) and push come to shove, all we have to do as my friend recently told me is that, we eaisly contaminate the water as it leaves our border. A 4 men job. Simple.

8. We know the day foregin experts leave the construction site or congregate to one location will be the day you'll attack. I hope your Embassy prepares for the public outrage it will face on that day.

9. Our government is begging you too much. It's irritating. They should be the one that is begged. I reckon you listen to them. It's to your ultimate advantage.
