Comments on this Embassy
I have been invited to participate in National Institute for Space Research (INPE) in Brazil XI Seminar on Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System for Forestry Applications to be held at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum in Curitiba, Paraná, between the 14th and 16th of October 2014 to deliver a invited Key Note paper. The full paper entitled “Earth Observation systems for forest mapping, monitoring and conservation in India”. INPE is sponsoring my visit. I have also visited Brazil in April 2013 to participate in a conference with visa no. 905254ME. Since I live in Hyderabad, I filled up on line visa application on 4rth September 2014 on the website http://brazil-visa.br.com/ as per the online search for visa application site. The process got completed fully including the payment (of $90). I have received the following message after filling up the application:
Your payment has been received: your application (Ref.# BZL-111377) will now be processed.
You can expect to receive your Visa Application as a PDF attachment within 24-72 hours.
Please let me know the following:
1. Is the website is official for filing application online?
2. If yes, when I can expect the .pdf of application and receipt of payment for submission to the Embassy with all necessary papers.
3. I have sent a reminder to the email ID sales@brazil-visa.br.com but have not got any response. This is giving me doubt on the authenticity of the website
My details are as below:
Name PARTH SARATHI ROY
DOB: 13th August, 1952
Father's Name : Nani Gopal Roy
Passport No: G 4477245
Affiliation: Chair Professor, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad
If there is any discrepancy in my procedure that also please let me know.

The land line number of Brazil Embassy never responds. After calling up for some hundred odd times you might be lucky to hear a voice from a lady (who might be responsible for handling phones). Again she might connect you to the visa officer or disconnect at her sole discretion. If you are lucky you will get to speak to the visa officer who will tell you to check the status online and when you inform that the status is not moving from
"Received" status for the last 10 working days then they will say that there is a backlog, or they are waiting for a response from their counter part etc etc. So the point here is reaching them is a big pain and in case you are lucky enough to speak to them they will not resolve your problem. They just don't care about any emergency situation what you might be facing. And the lady at the reception is the most ridiculous lady to encounter, who will always keep the phone busy and who does not at all understand the busineed need. It is high time the embassy should try and get a new number to help the people of India. They should understand that no country can ever flourish and prosper if they work in isolation or if they start doubting each and every person who wants to travel there.

I have applied for a FIFA world cup visa (holding a valid ticket) and submitted my documents 12 business days back. When I try checking for the status online, I get the message 'Under Processing'. This is despite the fact that my friends got their visas from the same location in 7 business days.
So, naturally, I am a little concerned. I tried calling the number provided on the website (011 23017301). I must have tried calling at least 50 times over the past couple of days during the working hours stipulated on the site. Only on 2 occasions, was I able to speak to someone...and on both occasions, I was put on hold for a few minutes and then hung up on.
This is a little dissapointing..can someone from the embassy please at least respond to the emails that we have sent?
