Call backs
Hate to be a downer but you will never receive a call back. It is best to go in. There is no care and concern for their Portuguese commands. People that work there are so behind in time. The only person that I would say is extremely helpful is "Jorge". He actual cares. Good luck ...

I am also interested in finding out how I can get my Portuguese citizenship. My parents are both Portuguese citizens and as I understand it, I am eligible.

I have tried calling several times but no answer.

Rude
I was at the Consulate this week. I was born in Portugal and so were my parents. My father passed and my mom was there to close an account in Portugal. Lots of paper work required which is not a surprise. However, my mom has Alzheimer so it is very difficult for her to remember anything. I asked the man what was happening once I came back from parking the car and he was sooo rude and told me to wait and put his hand on my face. Needles to say a agreement broke out and he told me to leave. I was of course rude back. He wouldn't talk to me, wouldn't explain anything. Well my mother doesn't remember what was discussed... now we have to go back. I will continue to write something about this little man with a Hitler attitude.

Helpful Hints
I would recommend a more user friendly website where forms can be downloaded for different applications/purposes. A Q&A section with a list of questions and answers that are most commonly asked would probably avoid a lot of frustration among those that have attempted to call in or visit your location. I am confused as to why it is so difficult to call in and get someone to talk to. I have called at least 6 times and tried almost all the extensions provided with no avail. Perhaps if you set up a call center where a set of people can easily answer general questions or direct them to the right department. Thank you
