Comments on this Consulate-General
A Quatemalen friend of mine wishes to sign a document giving a relative power of attorney to handle a sale of real estate located within Quatemala, and she was advised that Quatemalan law requires a power of attornet document to be signed within Guatemala for the document to be legal.
The friend of mine lives near Detroit, Michigan and ould travel to Chicago. Can the Quatemalan Consulate in Chicago witness and notarized her signature; is a consulate sovereign territory just like an embassy is, and would such a notarized signature count as being signed in Quatemala?
Do I have to be present or can I mail in my documents to be authenticated?
