Re: Passport Renewal in Manila, CDN EMBASSY
Sent my application and requirements for passport renewal last Feb 15th via LBC and was received and signed @ THE EMBASSY.on Feb 16th 10;52 am. Have not received my new passport yet and have not heard anything from them either. Tried calling the Embassy to no avail it is always busy any time of the day. It is so frustrating as I am used to getting back a renewed passport in 1 weeks time. Just happened that I got caught here in the Philippines for renewal. It surely is frustrating to be waiting this long. All the mental anguish and anxiety that they are inflicting on us is so unfair and cruel.I can't believe how inefficient and disorganized the Canadian Embassy is , here in the Philippines.

really there is "forever"
i agree with u "john" they are pathetic. i think its "only in the philippines" that processing papers at canadian embassy need barrels of patience on the part of the applicants. they are experts of making us WAIT. in our case all we do is wait. i do not understand what is taking them so long just to stamp our passport with visa. when in fact we passed and complied every thing that the cic requested. because of the very long time for processing at the embassy, last year we were obliged to repeat our medical. what a waste of time and money! and were on our fifth month of no response from them. if tehy were only doing their job well. we could have been with my family in canada as early as jan 2015. what a delay!

Manila wait times are pathetic
The CIC embassy In Manila is dysfunctional. My wife applied for a spouse visa in June of 2015. The sponsorship part, of course completed in Canada was done as expected in approximately two months and then passed on to the dysfunctional people at the embassy in Manila.

The people working there are accountable to NOBODY. They do what ever they want and I believe they are very prejudice.

My wife worked in Dubai for a year and she has NEVER returned, so prior to submitting our application we obtained a Police Clearance from the Dubai Embassy in Manila.

This took us 6 months to achieve and it was already expired when we received it.I wrote a lengthy letter explaining this clearly. I was told by an immigration lawyer that it would be accepted as long as she had not returned to Dubai.

Of course as soon as the people in Manila get their hands on it, we get an e mail from them: Please obtain an up to date Police Clearance from Dubai!!

We also got a request to provide more documents to prove her identity!! Again so much stupidity. What MORE do they want!! Her birth certificate, passport copy, drivers license, marriage certificate etc etc.

We provided all the documents, with the help of a lawyer the police clearance was accepted.

To date after 10 months ECAS does not even show her application in process. What a disgrace and an injustice.

This is the way a born Canadian Citizen is treated by a bunch of grunts in Manila after 35 years of paying income tax, property tax, into OHIP etc etc.

Only word to sum up the CIC embassy in Manila is
PATHETIC and an embarrassment to Canada.

Good luck to anybody trying to sponsor a spouse from the Philippines.
