Fiancee Visa/American Consulate Montreal
I was at the American Consulate in Montreal, the week of May 23. Everything went well and was told that I was approved for Fiancee Visa. It is now July 4, and I have yet to receive my passport and Visa. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this delay recently?

Runaround
We have been given the runaround by the Consulate for 6 months. My husband has had his interview and was never clearly informed that he needed to see another doctor for an evaluation. Twice we were told that the medical information requested had been received and we have been expecting to get a decision for the last 6 (six) months and just recently we were informed that my husband had refused to go for the evaluation, How stupid is that? Why on earth would we have gone through the entire process and then refuse this interview??? I am an American and I too wonder how our government can function at all. The waiting periods are absolutely ridiculous in this age of technology, we waited 4 months for Montreal to set up an appointment. The interviewers certainly are not overworked since they only spend a minimal amount of time with interviewees. Ah yes, our tax dollars at work. What a farce!!! Now we might have to endure more expense and wait longer. We have been in the system for 3 years. .Perhaps we would have been better off if he had entered the country through Mexico as an illegal and then Congress could pass a bill so he would be legal. Would have saved us a lot of money and wear and tear on our nerves. Michael forgot incompetence. And try to contact someone at the Embassy, you might as well try to contact Santa Claus, it's impossible. I totally agree with Michael, he hit the nail right on the head. I am embarrassed to admit I am an American at times like this . We are senior citizens and this is our lives they are playing with and they apparently have no compassion whatsoever, Shame on them!!! Apparently one of the problems is that they really don't have anyone to account to for their inadequacies. BTW Michael, thank you for your service, God Bless and Good Luck!!!!

Non-Immigrant Visa Service
It is truly amazing that the US government can function at all. My Canadian fiancee and I have been waiting for an instructional packet on how to proceed with obtaining the government ordered physical exam and processing a criminal background check. We were told that the packet in question was mailed on March 3, 2011. Today is March 20, and the packet has still not been delivered. It took nearly six (6) months for the Vermont center to process the I-129F form, when it was supposed to take no longer than three (3). What is wrong with our government service? It is delay after delay and excuse after excuse! Ineptitude...inefficiency... and lack of concern for American citizens are the operative words. I have served my country in the military (Vietnam veteran), but my country has failed in serving me!
