REQUESTING A SCHOLARSHIP
Am a male Malawian aged 23 and single. I am in year three at university of livingstonia, studying bachelor of degree in public health.My family has made many sacrifices to allow me to focus on education throughout primary and secondary school. I now have an opportunity to become the first person in my family to have a degree, though I'm in need of financial assistance to realize what has been a long-term goal for me and a dream for my parents. Because of their love and sacrifice over the years, I have been able to devote the time and energy necessary to academic accomplishment even though money has always been tight. As of now am in third year but with fees balances which we have been told that we should first square the balance before reporting in the coming semester which will commence in august. When at home I spend much time working with my father at the farm as a way of contribution to my fees. The fee per semester is 1400 dollars on campus and 850dollars on off campus, and am operating off campus to ease the pressure of fees. Additionally, I have also been active in our community organization. I also hold down a part-time as a volunteer at Ekwendeni HIV/AIDS Resource Centre, where I have an opportunity to learn valuable skills that will help me in my career. My father is a farmer so most of the times I spend at farm as the way of busting money to fund my education.

SHARING THE NEWS ON MY SELECTION AS A GIST Tech-I FINALIST
I am Mixon Faluweki, a student at the University of Malawi's Chancellor College and the innovator of Bicycle charger. An innovation meant for many people living in rural areas of Malawi and other African countries who use mobile phones for communication, use bicycles for transport but do not have access to home electricity. This innovation will enable people charge their mobile phones, charge a lamp/torch as well as radio/mp 3 player using a bicycle which is owned by many in most African states including Malawi.

I am glad to inform you that with my innovation, I have been honored as a GIST Tech-I 2014 finalist and am expected to fly to Morocco on 15th November through Chileka International Airport for the live pitching finals.

As a youth of Malawi and upcoming entrepreneur, I am ready to work with my fellow youths in Malawi to inspire them so that we achieve great things as a country and develop our land using various technological means.
