My Wife's UK Passport renewal 12 + WEEKS AND COUNTING
My wife sent in here UK passport renewal, which was received by the British Embassy/Consulate in Washington DC on May 24, 2013.

Since then: it's Aug 15 today, we have done the on-line chat thing to try to find out what has happened to it ( that was July 12 ) we were told something would happen within 72-hours ... nothing happened; I then sent two emails on Aug 5, 2013 to hqenquiries@hmpo.gov.uk and ukpassportwebchat@teamhgs.eu and have not received any reply to those; finall I called the UK Embassy in Washington and listened to the answering machine for 5-minutes until I got the UK number to call (011-44-2080824721) and was told that they will look into it! Needless-to-say this service is something less than a stellar performance!

Searching for a long-lost sailor friend
I was stationed on an American submarine (USS BATFISH [SSN-681]) and briefly stopped at the British Submarine Base at Faslane, Scotland in 1978. While there I met and was entertained by a British Submariner on the -- I think -- HMS SWIFTSURE. His name was Peter Armitage and his rank -- to the best of my knowledge -- was Leading Hand. If he still lives he would be in his late 60s or possibly in his early 70s. He and his wife were most kind to me while I was there and I would like, if possible, to contact him and express again, my thanks for his hospitality and kindness to a lonely "Yank" who was far from home. Thank you.

value of britain as a loyal ally
I just finished my fourth book all printed since 2004 about the plight of Poland during and after WWII. I learned the details of the British,French and Polish treaty of 1939. If Poland was attacked-Britain must bomb German targets immediately, and France invade from the west within 15 days. Nothing happened and Poland was abandoned by her "allies". I learned the Poles covered the retreat to Dunkirk. And needless to say, the Poles made the difference in the Battle of Britain. They had the best pilots. Our leading American ace Gabe Gabreski flew twenty four missions with the Poles to learn how to fight the Germans. But most importantly if Great Britain had fulfilled its treaty with Poland, the Hitler government would have fallen and millions of lives would have been saved But all of this information was buried after the war and Poland suffered under communism. Damn the British and the French. You deserve your muslim hordes. I am very proud of my Polish heritage. I have no fondness for people who abandon their friends. Friends who were willing to die for them in France, the skies over Britain, the Falaise pocket, at Monte Cassino, and Arnhem. I only wish my many relatives who fought in WWII could have known the total picture of the Polish contribution. They are all gone now and only knew of Poland as a communist nation. They would have been very proud.

Condolences to you for your loss of Lee Rigby
Dear Friends, Long before Lee was born, I was a Sgt. in the United States Air Force. I consider Lee Rigby and all U.K. men and women in your armed services to be my brothers and sisters. I have no words to express my horror at the cowardly murder of fine and innocent young man who, in fact, died for his county and our best ally. I just want you to know that many Americans care and grieve with you. God Bless Lee Rigby and heartfelt condolences to his family and all the people of the U.K.
