Unpaid work for a month? Is this normal
Hi I am a British citizen who has been working in Ogens, Switzerland for the past three weeks. My boss has fired me and asked me to leave by Monday 16th December. She said it is 'normal' practice for an au pair to work free for one month as the position is 'live in' and 'worth' 960 Chf. I think this is scandalous and WRONG! I also had the weekend off which she has now retracted and said I must work. Again without pay. Surely this is illegal?
