Why is it Americans can get a renewal passport in two days for a fraction of the cost? Is it so special to be British that we get to pay 160+ euros and must wait months for a renewal? Britain's invisible taxes are as usual, crippling and abhorent - God save the Queen!
I applied for a passport for my Son on the 6th June, still haven't heard anything. Can't track the number that the post gave me eiother. What is the problem at the Embassy. Should I worry that it has gone astray and we wont be able to go on vacation this year?
I sent my passport to Dusseldorf for renewal in early June when the waiting time was 4 weeks, i was hoping to travel to the UK from Germany on Friday, should I cancel my travel arrangements?
We have posted our passports over four weeks ago by recorded post from Istanbul, Turkey. Turkish postal agency confirms parcel has left 09th June. So far, our renewal payment fees have not been deducted from our credit cards. Also, my employer has to renew my Turkish residence/work permit which expires at the end of this month.
When we posted the passports, your website advised 4 weeks for passport renewals, and we realized that the website is updated mid June, advising 8 weeks. We find this delay very frustrating. Turkish authorities are very strict about expired permits, and we have sent our application in sufficient time in accordance with the information we were given from your website. Please advise when delivery will be made
Thankyou very much for taking the time to update me on your passport arrival. Thankfully her passport arrived this morning, I am very happy to say the least. However, when it expires in 5 yrs time I shall certainly be renewing it in the UK.
To answer the last Em from the youg lady waiting for a new passport. Mine at last arrived 28th June and has taken some seven weeks to obtain it. It arrived by Courier, DHL, having been flown from Dusseldorf to eventually our local airport Billund. It cost an additional charge of 22 pounds not requested by me. So that ends my story with a result. May be my last passport as im 76 years old, still who knows.
I would be keen to hear how long it is actually taking for people to receive their passports. I sent an application for my baby to get her first passport on 15th May and I am still waiting. It took them 2 weeks to even take the money. I want to travel to the UK with my daughter so she can meet her grandparents. The wait is so frustrating!
I am still waiting for my renewed pass port. I cannot understand your attitude regarding awnsering these messages. Does some nameless person read them and take any action required. I dont think so.The business would not behave like this.
It is now 24th June. I still havent received my new passport. How can I travel without this passport as I wish to go to the UK and France. You have banked my money 151.16 pounds. Your service is disgracefull. What a way to treat a man of 76 years old.
Have you all gone to sleep or are you on a continued holiday. I want to go to England shortly and also Germany, its impossible to travel without my passport. Why the long delay. I think your service to the british public living abroad is a shame on you all. I will continue to complain about this method of obtaining a a passport for uk people living in an EEC country. An absolute disgrace.
