Comments on this Embassy
1. I have been a British resident in Hungary since my arrival in 1994. I was awarded an O.B.E. a couple of years before arriving here. I have understood that every new Ambassador draws up clean event guest lists. For the last two years I have been out of the country on the Queen's Birthday celebration. I would be grateful if you could reinvite myself (and my hungarian wife, the which have given us much pleasure over many years.
2. I met the new 'Master' of my (Cambridge) College for dinner in Vienna recently. She is a very experienced lawyer and involved in the condition of prisoners. I had been looking for something like that. Knowing nothing specifically how the prison system works for the care of British prisoners here, I thought I might you might be able to find a slot in the Ambassador's much busier diary than mine. If he can guide me for the first few steps I would be most grateful to him, and you.
I look forward to your replies.
Richard Lyon.
Sirs, In the distant past before my husband (former owner of the nationalized, world-famous Zsolnay Facto-
ries which had numerous English connections, one notably, that his great-grandmothere was a Bell, Scots) passed away we received invitations to Embassy events like the Queen's birthday, etc. N.B. the Residence is the Scitovszky Villa built by my Godmother Mme. Hanna Scitovszky, designed by another relation, György Masirevich....severing these bonds make life in post-Communist Hungary all the more painful.
I would be grateful to be reinstated on the list for invitations. Many thanks,
Dr. Esther Vécsey-M. Zsolnay Tamásné
