marriage fraud
I unwittingly married a Gambian citizen after 2 years on communication, visits and 'Courtship' so I thought all was okay. As soon as all the drama of visas and IDL was obtained he declared his intentions were only to obtain a visa. He now wishes to bring his Gambian wife here on a student or visitors visa and I really do not think this should be allowed. A warning to other women and men please be strong if you have any doubts please, please do not invest any emotion into these transactions because Gambian citizens definitely do not.

Still waiting!
I met my gambian husband in 2009 when I visited the Gambia on holiday. We remained just friends and I visited yearly. In January 2012 we knew it was more than just friends and decided to make plans for a future together. We decided Uk would be best to settle as I have my own home and a good stable job and the prospects are much better for my then boyfriend to find work too. We married the next year in January 2013 in the Gambia and put together our visa application.
He had his required medical and we filled in all the forms then we were told he needed to do an exam and that he would have to wait for a date to do it. He finally did the Adam in April 2013!! 3 months after we married. Then we had to wait for the result. We got the result a month later! He passed. We could finally apply. The forms were sent at the end of may 2013. We heard nothing until AUG 2013!!!! It was killing us. It was a refusal letter. We were deeply disappointed. Refused on the grounds that we needed to prove our relationship was real with emails records phone records etc. I had to prove I earned the £8.600 a year with my pay slips. I had to show evidence of when I visited him with tickets.
I photocopied 5000+ emails and got everything together they requested. I saw a local solicitor who dealt with immigration and he said we had a 99% good chance to get our visa. I did a covering letter to say I am happy to take it to court if they want me too and that we will be living as husband and wife together in the uk etc etc.everything was sent off in Aug 2013 and I was contacted in September to say they had received it and would look through it and get to me as soon as possible as they were running behind! The bundle was then sent to the high commission in the Gambia to the Entry Clearence Office and still remains there as I type this. I visited my husband in November 2013 and had an emotional reunion with each other. It was a stressful 11 months. We are always positive and keep each other strong. We talk every night and email all day long. I read on the website we can get in touch with the embassy after 60 working days and that is this week after all the bank holidays etc. we can phone and email and enquire about what stage we are at. We still haven't been accepted yet. We had our first wedding anniversary last week apart. and tomorrow I will be emailing with our reference numbers to see what's happening next. Hopefully we won't be going to appeal as that is another six months to a year just to get the hearing date! We love each other and we'll keep on pushing and hopefully we'll get some good news in February 2014.

Visa Injustice
After my husband having been refused his 3rd visa application now, which has been going on for the past 4 years, its getting beyond a joke. Does the Uk Immigration do this only for an extra income? If so, they are earning a massive amount of money from these applications the world over! The reason 'may not return' is crazy, particularly if, as I have heard, in some cases, the recent applications have been denied to Gambians that HAVE been here and HAVE returned within their visa durations. Its so sad that a faceless bureaucrat can meddle with genuine peoples lives like this.

Teachers Visa application
We have applied for a visa for two teachers from our link school in Gambia to visit our school in the UK for two weeks, the funding we got was through the British Council and we sent all the required paperwork, we have been working with our link school for 6 years. Our visas have been refused this is very unfair.
