Where can you Renew British passport
Hi, I was informed on a forum in Koh Samui that it is possible to renew your passport at the embassy again.
Is this the case or must I do online and if online do I still have to send my passport or is there an exception for Thailand ?

Expecting a baby, how do I get a British passport quickly after birth?
I live in Laos and have been officially married for ten years to a Lao. We are expecting a baby on 9 December. Because of medical risks, we will have the baby in Thailand (Nongkhai or Udon). Within a couple of days, presuming all okay, we will return to Vientiane. To cross the bridge the child needs a document. Since the baby is born in Thailand and will have a birth certificate naming parents and since I am fully British born in the UK, I presume the baby is born a British national. In the past, when living in Thailand, my other children obtained passports within a couple of days. Now the procedure for obtaining a first/child's passport has changed, what should I do to obtain a travel document quickly?

My alternative is to return to the UK to have the baby, taking everybody with me and going at least a month before delivery. My wife is Lao and would need a visa and I presumably would have to pay all NHS services as my wife is delivering not me. Obviously that would be enormously expensive and hurt my business in Laos. So, Thailand it is. By Lao law, the baby takes father's nationality. Are there no circumstances where I can obtain a travel document with Embassy help, or do we need to hang around in Thailand in order to get a passport from Hong Kong or wherever?

UK Consulate: Incompetent Idiots
One of our company's senior managers recently had his visa application to the UK rejected on the grounds that he could not support an ability to afford accommodation in the UK or travel out of the UK. This was despite having a paid for business class return air ticket and a paid for 5 star hotel, as well as a letter of guarantee from a multi-billion dollar company - all for nothing more than a 3 day trip. This is not the first time I have encountered this sort of idiotic incompetence from the UK consulate in Bangkok. Just last year my wife had her visa rejected on the grounds that she couldn't afford travel (notwithstanding a paid for return business class ticket), could not afford accommodation (notwithstanding the attachment of my mothers name, address and phone number where we would staying), was not legitimately married to me (notwithstanding attachment of our marriage certificate - from Singapore), and had no evidence of my own employment details (which were never asked for). You are stupid inept racialist fools. Not only do you insult foreigners, but you mis-serve the British people who run businesses which would benefit from visitors. I am embarrassed to be British and outraged that people in the UK consulate are not held accountable for this sort of gross negligence.

Holiday ownership scheme
I have a holiday ownership points scheme which may have been sold fraudulently to a Thai national. I have received an unsolicited phone call from one Robert Green who claims to work for the British Consulate in Bangkok and supplied a phone no: 0066967908069. He says that he can assist me in recovering the proceeds of this sale providing I pay 1500GPB up-front fee. Please will you confirm that Robert Green does indeed work for the Consulate and has the above telephone no. My email address is mfsmann@yahoo.co.uk.

visa lies
British embassy has falsely refused my wife a visa to uk becouse they said I never met the sponsored amount £16.800 I did I was £18.900 but apparently the inland revenue in uk are wrong because my form sa300 states I have .so this much mean the never read the paper work or they are illiterate .I truly believe I and my wife have been done an injustice .the threshold of £18.600 is a lie .The year before I earned £25.355 and in 2012 I eared £23.231 so it just shows its all lies or if you're self imployed you can't get a visa for your wife. Is there anyone else having this problem of the shut shop on thai wife syndrome .

Renewal of British Passport...
Dear Sirs,

I need to renew my British passport and understand that this must bre done theough an organisation on Sukhumvit Soi 13 and will take of the order of six weeks.

Thai regulations state thate foreigners MUST carry their passport in public wit a serious fine if found not to do so. It also states that a photocopy is not acceptable.

What steps will the Embassy take to support me if I fall foul of this regulation as it is necessary for me to travel by air from Chiang Mai to Bangkok for medical treatment? I do NOT have a Drivers Licence or other formal means of identification.
