I am a British national, resident in the Netherlands. I am trying with great difficulty to get an Indian tourist visa and am told I have to actually go to the UK in order to apply for this! UK nationals cannot get one here! Can anyone please confirm the procedure? Many thanks

Have applied four months ago for a my sons renewal of a British Passport.Was requested to send additional documents, my birth certificate, marriage certificate, my wife's and I's passports, but after talking to the helpline was told colour photocopies will do. Sent the documents and received a letter threatening to stop the application so called helpline again as have proof of them receiving documents, was told I would get a reply via e.mail within 72 hours, two months have passed by and heard nothing. Called helpline again same S**t promised a reply within 72 hrs, tomorrow 72 hours are up so will call again and call the consulate, and try to get the number from the Durham Passport office. It was announced last week in the UK that UK ex-pats may have a 12-months automatic extension of their passports. What is the procedure please?
