I will travel to Atlanta to attend a scientific conference and i need to know the exact steps for getting the visa and if i must take an appointment time for visa or i can go directly to the embassy for an interview.please give me an answer very soon

I will travel to Istanbul to attend a scientific conference and I have a service passport issued by Egyptian Ministry of foreign Affairs. Do I need Visa or I can travel directly with that passport. Thanks
