COMPLAIN OF ILL -TREATMENT BY TRAFFIC OFFICER AT VWAWA
I would like to make a complain on how Zambians who are leaving by Nakonde Border are being treated by by one traffic officer who is very corrupt and rude at the same time. Tanzanians are traveling into Zambia to Buy Maize, millet Groundnuts and other agriculture products without having passports, they even go distances which are more that 100 Kilometres in Zambia. Some even spend weeks in the Zambian Soils without traveling documents . Some of us are born from Parents who happen to be right up at the border one from Tanzania and other other one from Zambia. If I have a sick relative admitted in Hospital in Tanzania and I travel just to go and come back within a matter of few hours then I am asked for a passport. You at the embassy Know very well that we people have no provision of getting and Emergency traveling Documents should the need arise.

I am appealing to your office to find a solution to this problem also consider that corrupt traffic police officer who is always by the road just to enrich himself, This officer is short and Black and has also bought a and expensive car from the bribes he is getting from the threats he imposes on people. He is stationed at Vwawa Police Station. You should tell us if he is there to disturb peace at this border where we have enjoyed piece ever since our countries Tanzania and Zambia got independence. You should bear it that we are indigenous of this place and would not accept to be abused by an individual. A lot of Zambians are complaining, If we also insist that Tanzanina should not cross and do business in Zambia we will harm them a lot looking at the economic problems Tanzanian has. Most of the Tanzanians at that border are surviving and doing their business in Zambia. Now if this is not taken seriously it will lead to a very bad picture for Tanzanian.

Lastly, consider us at the border to continue building a better relationship with your country.
