Comments on this Embassy
I am a Syrian citizen, 19 years old.
My family lives in Saudi Arabia.
I currently live and study in the United States, doing my freshman year in bachelors of computer science.
I know its a year early, but I am thinking ahead. My passport expires within a year. I cannot renew it in the United States, nor in Saudi Arabia because the Syrian embassy in both countries was shut down due to ongoing political tensions.
My option is to go back to Syria, but if I do, they might hold me back there and not allow me to come back to the United States to study because at my age, I am supposed to serve in the army. I do not want to do that due to the ongoing war there that might ruin my future and hamper my academically success.
I thought of mailing my passport to a different country, but the problem of not have been served in the Syrian army still remains, and the other country's Syrian embassy might not allow the renewal.
heard something about applying as a 'political refuge'? Honesty I am very little experienced when it comes to such.
Advise would be appreciated.
Thanks,
