Hello, I'm planning to travel to Portugal in september 2012, how can I find the list of documents required for my visa? Do I have to visit the embassy in order to get this paper or can I find it online?

student resident card
Hello,
I have a student resident card and it expiers in august 2012. I need to go there to get some stuff and sort some things out before going back for university. Would I be able to travel on my student resident then come back to my home country get my visa and go back for university in septemeber. Basically, can I use my student resident to travel without a visa before it expires. Thank you
