Comments on this High Commission
I have had nothing but excellent service from the SA High Commissioner's staff in Wellington. Every query has been answered within 24 hours and with total competence. Well done!
He puts his profile on catholic singles.com and then tends to be friendly and interesting. He then states he is going to South Africa gets stuck there with a medical problem and then has not renewed his Visa to come home. He asks for money every time he calls. He states he will pay it back as soon as he comes back to the states. He also states he has 2 grown daughters in college and is a wealthy man who drives a Mercedes, don't be fooled by this fool of a person. He is a money scammer so beware.
What is the point of having this website and inviting people to share their experiences when all they've had are bad experiences dealing with SA High Comm. nobody even bothers to read this and to reply to peoples complaints, it is so utterly frustrating when nobody can answer ones questions, one cannot get a status report, this is just typical of the way South Africa is heading, down the drain, I've been waiting for my passport (renewal) for 5 months, we have had to cancel our holiday which cost us a fair bit, we lost some of the deposit as a result, and now we have a few months within to use our tickets before the expire and there is still no word on my passport and nobody can tell me what's happening, I just give up dealing with these incompetent people, one of the Ladies I did manage to speak with was trying to be helpful but she said she was just as frustrated with the system as many people are and inundated with calls every day with the same problem, I don't even know what the point is of having a High Comm. if they can't assist their citizens, I am just to frustrated and personally will not advise anyone to visit South Africa, I will not be encouraging anyone I know to travel there because it's bloody embarrassing to be associated with them.
All too often I am reminded why I left South Africa. Readng through the commentry here I am not suprised. They are apathetic, lazy, incompetent and simply don't give a damn.
No suprises I'm afriad but there you go - Thats South Africa
Anyone please let me know how can i apply for a new south african passport. I couldn't find any forms online for nz applicants. Tried ringing the phone number many times and no one answer. Thank you. Please let me know.
I applied beginning of March for renewal of my teenagers passports, it is now the end of July. The frustrating thing is that NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE AT 048158484 !!
NOBODY ANSWERS THE EMAILS EITHER!
THERE NEEDS TO URGENTLY BE A STAFF CHANGE OR SOMETHING.
IS ANYBODY ACTUALLY READING THESE MESSAGES?
I urgently need their passports as we have to apply for our PR here before end August!!
HIGHLY FRUSTRATED.
Claire.
I was also fooled by those same emails from Richard thinking it was real and sent my personal details which was a stupid mistake and I mentioned that I could not afford to pay the fees for the south African bank to release the money into my NZ account, poor persons name he used with my last name added to it.
He even assisted me in what to type in my email besides come up with a sad story about his unwell wife.
I have been trying for 3 weeks to get appointment for my passport. I made 60-70 phonecalls daily, nobody answers the phone. No responses from emails nor faxes. HELP!!!
Please, who can help me.
Thank you.
Mark
I apply for my passport nearly 9 months ago. After one story to another I have finally been told (from SA side) that my passport has been sent back 20th February to NZ. I have been trying for not only months before this but again in the past 3 weeks to try and get through by calling & emailing to get no answer!
Please will someone get back to me on the status as I have booked a trip and need this matter sorted.
Regards
Mark Taylor
