Good day.. I am currently in Shanghai trying to apply for my work visa but the missing document is the police criminal background. Is it possible for it tp be done through you guys? Urgent
I phoned the consulate and got through immediately. I spoke to Florence to ask her about the process of having finger prints done. She was very friendly and extremely helpful. She managed to get me an appointment for the next day. This is the best service I have ever received from any South African government office.
I have been in China for 9 years. My passport will expire early next year. How does getting a new passport affect my visa which is in the current passport?
Hi, my 16 year old son and me are planning a trip to South Africa. I was told to bring his birth certificate as well. Is it o.k. to bring the original or does it have to be a certified copy. I do not have an english translation and the German Consulate can not help. Can you help me?

Hi all, my passport expires on 3rd January 2018. I have been living in China for over 5 years and I wanted to apply for my green card here but they said that I still have the old South African passport. I have waited, as of today, 4 months and 12 days for my passport. The service I have received is absolutely terrible. I have struggled to get email replies to my queries, phone calls have merely prompted me to the email service, and I am very likely at this point to be financially impacted by their incompetence due to the need to change my flights for my holiday home. This story is all my colleagues need to understand why I do not live back hone any more. Terrible service.

I renewed my passport while in China, however, I waited more than 4 months to receive it back. E-mail replies are slow and better to just call them to get the info you're looking for.
Why is nobody from the embassy or elsewhere answering these questions?Or am I missing something?
They seem valid and some of the most basic questions that are directed daily to embassies all over the world (for example lost passport etc.)
Can I apply for a new South African passport while in China. I dont have many pages left
