All tourist visa applicants kindly write email to travel@southafrica.net and describe your complaint. Ask them to take it up with home affairs . Lets not spare south african consulate of Mumbai. South africa is such a beautiful country and people are so warm , but this single guy at Mumbai consulate is spoiling his country's image.

From my experience, there is absolutely nothing much you can do about expediting the process except submitting the motivation letter to expedite the process to VFS.

Rest leave it in God's hands. I have been through exactly what all of you are going through. I also rang & rang & rang to VFS as well as Consulate. It's just a tennis match between the two. All you would do is wind yourself up & frustrate yourself.

There is absolutely no one paying specific attention to your application in particular because for Consulate General, each & every application are equally important. I tried to send emails, tweets, FB messages, You name it & I've done it to expedite my application but there was no support, no response, no help from no one.

So, just do your necessary bit, follow the process & leave the rest up to God.

No information on Visa & Passport Release
I have applied for 30 Days Holidays visa for South Africa on 12 JAN 17 at VFS Mumbai. However, till date there is no update VFS has, everytime when I call to know, they reply stating its under process.
My travel is booked & confirmed for 11 FEB 17 from Mumbai to Johannesburg. I have submitted Visa release expedition letter on 2 FEB 17 also. But still no revert from Consulate.
I am so worried now because if visa doesn't come, i will be facing financial loss of INR 35,000 because airline not refund the ticket amount as its booked under Promotional Offer.
I need your help in letting me know at least what is going on inside consulate, when all documents are correctly submitted. Pls support. Thanks
Regards

Applied on 20th of January 2017
Hi I am attending a conference on the 09th of February 2017 and haven't received the visa yet. VFS says it is still under process and I already canceled and rebooked my flight for the 08th of Feb

Any way to expedite my visa?

Praveen: Keep in mind the 10 day holiday of the consulate which was from Dec 23 to Jan 3. Technically your application has only been overdue for 10 days. You can submit a letter to VFS if need be.

Also keep in mind that December to January is the busiest period for DHA in Pretoria as this is when they are nabbing on the fake visa holders and fraud documentation so they are extremely busy with that.

I have colleagues who applied in July and got their visas in September perfectly in time with no hassles but applications submitted in Nov-Dec usually always get delayed.
