Raj
Hi Raj,

Feeling really bad about what you might be going through right now, i have experienced the same thing last year. They could have given you this decision as soon as you applied or not accepted it in the 1st place, instead of sitting on it for 5 months, this is really frustrating. I hope you still have your job in India to avoid any disruptions to your life here.

Please share an update when you decide on your next steps, it will be of great help for all of us here.

All the best man, good luck

@Raj

It is very sad to hear that you had to wait 5 months only to find out that your visa was rejected.

I suggest if you are ok with waiting further while keeping your passport on you, see how long it can take to get a response via an appeal. There are a number of immigration consultants based in SA who can help you out. Look them up on Google and see which one suits you best.

Thanks
Raj

Hi All,

I applied on 30th September 2016.

I called VFS but they have no solid information about documents required as they are like logistics company. Tried to go to embassy but no one allowed me to go inside they say go to VFS only.

Called delhi embassy no one pickups the phone.

Tried everywhere.

I think its got very strict to get CSV.

please advise if anyone knows any consultancy who can help with this matter.

Thanks,
Rajesh

VISA CATEGORY INFORMATION
Dear Mam/Sir,

My Self Hiral Dilipkumar Patel, Indian Citizen, required information regarding visa for me and my daughter.

I have one daughter who is 3 years old, but she is blessed us by my ex husband, but now a days I & my present husband Mr. Dilipkumar Patel take full authority and responsibly.

Right Now I have Visitor visa of South Africa on dependent category of my husband Dilipkumar Patel till 13th October, 2018. My daughter did not travelled with me after my new marriage with Mr. Dilipkumar Patel, but now my husband Dilipkumar Patel also taking a fully responsibility of me and my daughter.

Now the question is, before when I apply Visitor Visa on dependent Category at the time my husband Dilipkumar is on work permit, but now his status is Permanent Residence of South Africa & Now days I am in India with my daughter, so I would like to ask you, on which visa I can apply for my daughter? Is it possible to apply from here to direct for the Permanent Residence on basis of my husband for me and my daughter? If yes then which category do I need to select, because VFS cannot guide about PR.

I am too much confused in Relative Visa & Exchange Visa. My daughter is first time applying and I have already visitor visa on dependent category, so what should I need to do for the apply Permanent Residency. Is it possible to apply from here or I need to go there and then I can apply. And what about my daughter then on which visa for her eligible.

Please Guide me properly with the both detail by Delhi Process and Mumbai Process and documents list.

Do the needful.

Regards,
Hiral Patel

Appeals
Hi Dino,

Thanks for sharing your experience, sorry to hear u had to go through all that.

I am in agreement that the appeals process may turn out to be as horrible as the visa process. I have read that article on tata international and other articles where daimond merchants of India put pressure on DHA to get thier visas faster. However if I get a rejection 2nd time, I will for sure hire a lawyer in SA and appeal. I have no other choice.

@ Niveditha, I am also waiting for Raj to confirm the dates as it will give us some an indication of backlog at the embassy. Also if Raj can be kind enough to share his experience in detail, we all can learn from his case and be better prepared for any abnoxious response from the embassy.

@Raj: Sorry to hear about the CSV rejection. Hopefully you will be able to turn the tables around with your next application.

@SA Visa Applicant: I agree with you but only partially. Last year I was denied my ICT visa because I did not produce a document which I had submitted in my application already. I got the same feeling from the embassy that they would rather have me reapply instead of appealing. However, my letter was not backdated 10 days and it was of the current date. I took multiple opinions (including immigration lawyers in SA with solid DHA contacts, immigration consultants, and ofcourse VFS in Mumbai. They all suggested I swallow this tough pill and reapply because appeals, regardless of how strong your network might be, do take forever to process (read 8-9 months).

To emphasize my point, here is a link someone shared on this forum explaining how Tata Motors has been having issues with their employees' visa as well. If a multinational world renowned conglomerate is having issues with visas in SA despite of being extremely well connected, I doubt how much a common man can do:
