VISA delayed
I applied for business visa 15 days ago and all my business meetings were cancelled. Being an international traveler for last 10 years now but never seen such position. Someone should take some strict actions. SA airlines must be earning huge money due to these cancellations and postponements. Problem is that I do not know when this will be issued. They say 30 working days which makes it around 40 days in total. Which means my business loss will be huge. What to do ??????????????

Passport delayed
I have missed my conference where I was a speaker due to South African embassy not releasing passport and not issuing visa on time, the passport was given more than 20 days for issuing South African visa with all detailed itenary and hotel confirmation, airlines booking(as was told that without confirmed booking,NO visa will be issued)

On visiting South African consulate personally, sad part is they don't respond and no one is responsible to answer the traveller,as with me more than 20 travellers who had flight tommorrow and today and still passport was not released ,the consulate ask to visit VFS services and start blame game

External affairs ministers should take care on this, where all the expenses are incurred and passport not released by embassy for more than 30 days, who is responsible for the air ticket booking and hotel confirmation done

Someone should be answerable or else they should clear the back log by working extra hours and travellers should not suffer, why they don't understand that any single traveller who visits south aftica is going to spend at least $2500 minimum and with this there economy will be working

Hope they act fast and stop harassing people

waiting for a month
this embassy is ridiculous. Thomas the consular never assists anyone. They dont answer their phones and I've sent numberous emails to them. my wife and kids are in SA and have advised the consular of emergencies and advised only if someone dies can they process urgent visa. Now been advised they are closed on Friday 25 March and only re-open tuesday. they sure know how to break human spirits. Cold hearted and uncaring. If someone can help please do so as its not a matter of 1 person its a matter of 100s and emotionally this office is damning us. thanks

DON'T BOTHER WAITING FOR TOURIST VISA - CANCEL ASAP
I was as frustrated as a lot of friends here. My booking was on 19th & thanks to the callous & unprofessional attitude of the High Commission at New Delhi, my application remained pending (I guess everyone's application is pending) & I had to finally cancel my flight, trip & Withdraw my applications.

Just read this article and you will get the picture:

Nightmare to get a South African Tourist Visa.
Its a nightmare to get a South Africa Tourist Visa.
Dear All,
I request all tourists to boycott South Africa as a tourist Destination.
Nobody at Mumbai Consulate nor at VFS are responding queries of helpless Indian tourist. In fact we as Tourists are contributing to the SA Economy and these people have no value for our time and money. We should ask for refund from these people for all our travel costs and flight bookings. In fact the SA consulate should pack their bags and leave our country.
