SA citizen stuck in Manila
Wilhelm Johan van Greunen, is my son, who has been stuck in Manila in the Philippines for almost a year. He worked for Bauer for a long time.

He was a supervisor for Bauer Foundations and his contract was ended without Bauer following the correct proceedings according to the contract, where upon the Philippine Labour Department helped him to get a lawyer and go to court with the case.
The court case dragged on and on until he finally won the case but only received very little money after the lawyer took her money. He was living in a zinc kaia on top of someone's house, until I could get a bit more money to him. He was bitten by spiders there. He has been stabbed in the leg in order to be robbed when he was without lodgings and on the streets and now is ill [I suspect typhoid fever again].
Then the business started with the Immigration Department of the Philippines. They took his passport, and said the Commissioner of Immigration needed to sign his papers to go back to SA, and he has been going there every week for months so that he can fetch his passport and police clearance papers [because of the case against Bauer], but there's always an excuse. He then went to the South African embassy who tried to hurry things along, but to no avail. They said they can only do so much and that he must just go to emigration again.
In the meantime, we, my husband and I have been sending every penny we can to him via Western Union Bank so that he can pay for food and lodging. We are older people and we live off interest from investment and my grant.
We bought his air ticket back when Immigration told him he can fetch his clearance papers 5 weeks ago, still no papers. We had to pay another R5000 to move his flight forward. Again, the same thing keeps happening and he now has a flight that is open for which he still has to pay the penalty to Kenya Airlines, which I haven't got.
He needs money to survive this week, or somewhere to stay and food to eat. His clothes and things are at the hotel for which we were paying, and he had to skip the hotel because they would not let him out of the building. All he has with him is his clothing on his back, his cellphone and laptop with a broken screen. His shoes are broken. If his clearance papers are signed by the next flight or the next [maybe in 2 weeks].
He is on the streets, just wandering around day and night.
NOW...the hotel Paradis in Chiapo where he was staying has threatened him with a fraud case against him, but they were holding him hostage and the bill just kept going up. All his stuff is there.and he is on the streets because we have no more money to give him.
We have sold some stuff to help but I cannot expect my husband to keep giving from his monthly interest for Wilhelm as he is not his father, who died when he was small, and has to support us with this and the interest rates are very low now.. I have loaned money from friends and had to pay them back, but cannot get anything from my bank as we do not work and am older than pensionable age.
He hasn't eaten in a week, he says and doesn't care any more. He had to skip the hotel and go to tjhe SA embassy who have been of no help and put him in the street and said he must just wait.
His name is Wilhelm Johan van Greunen ID NO:6611065007088 and is known by our embassy in Manila.
Please could you get him some help as the embassy say they can do no more.
He asked Immigration there to inter him and then deport him but to no avail. We suspect that they want more and more money from us which we haven't got.
Thank you so much, from a distraught mother, Magda Smit 011 391 2128

Wimpie's tel no is:00639064227022 and I only know that Emigration in Manila have his passport
