relatives in South Africa
around 100 years ago several of my father's mother's sisters emigrated to S Africa; the families kept in touch for many years but the last contacts were 40 or so years ago. . . I am visiting S Africa in a few weeks time and would like to contact my relatives . . . can anyone suggest the best way to find them?? (Durban and Jo'burg) I have used a few web-links for births, marriages and deaths and found some of the names but nothing very recent. . . thanks for any help!!

renewal child Passport
We applied for our son's passport on the 10th July 2015. We where told it would take four months and to date we have heard nothing from the embassy. they said we would get a email notifying us when the passport would be ready for collection. I have emailed them and send a letter with a self addressed envelope to them but not heard anything back from them. We need to apply for our indefinite leave to remain beginning December and we are starting to get slightly concerned as we need his passport to apply. Have also tried phoning and you get a automated answer machine which then cuts you off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also tried calling VFS they said they cannot help.

DIVERT TO VFS Website, www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/uk
I had confirmation that SA House is no longer reachable directly for various reasons...
I have been advised that a company called VFS won a tender and are now acting on behalf of SA House in all matters.
Please email them on the website listed above.
Good Luck!

3 years later and I still waiting to be sent my S.A. identity ducument.
All forms completed, photographs and fingerprints supplied and fee paid and yet I still wait three years later - how many years is it normal to wait?

Application was made in person in London. At the same time I applied for a passport which I surprisingly have - otherwise I would be camping on their doorstep.

I know that I am not the only one still waiting!
